I&#8217;ve just been making a few pieces in between other projects as each flag takes about 10 minutes to make. These are really easy as they use a very simple garter stitch. In some pieces I&#8217;ve used two different colour wools together to create a different look.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stitchover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Two-Strand-Bunting.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-137\" title=\"Two Strand Bunting\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/stitchover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Two-Strand-Bunting-252x300.jpg\" width=\"252\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/stitchover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Two-Strand-Bunting-252x300.jpg 252w, http:\/\/stitchover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Two-Strand-Bunting-860x1024.jpg 860w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 252px) 100vw, 252px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The simple bunting pattern will create a flag that will need to be sewn to a ribbon, for my flags I knitted in a loop for a ribbon to thread through as I hate sewing. You could experiment with different sizes of wool or needles but the basic pattern is the same.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Simple Bunting Pattern<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Using 1 or 2 threads cast on 20 stitches<\/p>\n<p>Row 1: Knit all 20 stitches<\/p>\n<p>Row 2: Knit all 20 stitches<\/p>\n<p>Row 3: Knit all 20 Stitches<\/p>\n<p>Row 4: Knit 2\u00c2\u00a0stitches\u00c2\u00a0together (K2tog), knit until last 2\u00c2\u00a0stitches, Knit 2 stitches together (K2tog)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Repeat rows 1-4 until there are only 2 stitches left on the needle.<\/p>\n<p>Next row: K2tog<\/p>\n<p>Cast off final stitch.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Bunting with loop for ribbon<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Using 1 or 2 threads cast on 20 stitches.<\/p>\n<p>First 10 rows: knit all 20 stitches<\/p>\n<p>To make the ribbon loop:<\/p>\n<p>Fold the bottom hem upwards to meet the stitches on the needle<\/p>\n<p>Knit each stitch together with a stitch from the hem joining the two together.<\/p>\n<p>Continue as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Row 1: Knit all 20 stitches<\/p>\n<p>Row 2: Knit all 20 stitches<\/p>\n<p>Row 3: Knit all 20 Stitches<\/p>\n<p>Row 4: Knit 2\u00c2\u00a0stitches\u00c2\u00a0together (K2tog), knit until last 2\u00c2\u00a0stitches, Knit 2 stitches together (K2tog)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Repeat rows 1-4 until there are only 2 stitches left on the needle.<\/p>\n<p>Next row: K2tog<\/p>\n<p>Cast off final stitch.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Inspired by the beautiful knitted bunting at &#8216;The Broca&#8217; in Brockley I thought this bunting might girlify my pretty boring bedroom.
